Revitalizing Northwest Coastal Indian Food Culture, with Valerie Segrest

Description:
 Roots, berries, elk and salmon were at the center of traditional food culture for the Coast Salish people of the Pacific Northwest. Valerie Segrest, a native nutrition educator and an enrolled member of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, will discuss these local and traditional foods. She hopes to inspire and enlighten others about the importance of a nutrient-dense diet through a simple, common sense approach to eating.
